About Us
|
The RBWH RMO Society is a not-for-profit organisation representing the doctors in training of the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. Over time, we have established a proud tradition as an advocate and representative voice for junior doctors. We work to promote better working conditions for our members, ensure the quality and quantity of education in the hospital, and work with hospital administration to provide facilities and amenities to enhance professional satisfaction.
How do we do this? : REPRESENTATION: We represent your interests within the hospital and outside through representation on committees including the General Clinical Education Committee, regular meetings with the hospital directors, METS, the AMA and others. We are your point-of-call if you have an issue with rosters, overtime, pay, education and so on. COMMON ROOM: We work with hospital administration to ensure clean, adequate facilities in the Common Room including lockers, sleeping quarters, computers, daily newspapers, wide-screen televisions, and coffee machines. SOCIAL EVENTS: As if spending all day at work with your colleagues was not enough, we also run a series of social events through the year including end-of-term gatherings, the PA-RBWH RMO Society ball, weekly morning teas, and various sporting events. ACADEMIC EVENTS: To help support the ongoing academic interests of our members with low-cost skills sessions, careers evenings and more! REGULAR RMO SOCIETY MEETINGS: These meetings provide a forum to voice opinions, concerns and suggestions relevant to junior doctors at RBWH. A timetable of meetings for the year will be posted shortly. |
